Superfriends "Bug Bites"

Sounds from UK

Hailing from the UK, Superfriends deliver a joyous power pop jolt with "Bug Bites," the vibrant third and final single from their highly anticipated summer 2026 debut album, King Of The Moths. Clocking in at a brisk one minute and fifty-seven seconds, the track is a brilliantly bright soundscape of layered guitars and shimmering synths that channels the heartfelt, anthemic indie-punk energy of acts like Jeff Rosenstock and The Mountain Goats. Yet, beneath its sun-drenched, midsummer-day musical exterior lies a surprisingly poignant narrative about the bittersweet realities of growing up in your thirties—navigating old friendships ending, relocating, and accepting that while everything eventually changes, the underlying love remains. Born from the childhood bedrooms of founders Harry Atkinson and Jake Hughes and now fully rounded out by Matt Johnson and Mark Riley, the band uses this infectious track to invite listeners to pupate and embrace the chaotic metamorphosis of modern life. Ultimately, "Bug Bites" is a triumphant, feel-good shot in the arm that perfectly captures Superfriends' evolution into a tougher, weirder, and infinitely more compelling outfit.
