Sleepy "The Wrong Guy"
Sounds from Australia
11/08/2026 | Sleepy's "The Wrong Guy" is a shimmering three-minute slice of guitar-driven indie power-pop that captures the bittersweet ache of outgrowing someone you once loved. Hailing from Sydney, this three-piece crafts a sound that feels simultaneously sun-drenched and quietly heartbroken: bright, jangling guitars and an infectious, hook-laden energy carry lyrics about the gentle, devastating moment you realise you've simply become the wrong person for each other. The dual male/female vocal interplay adds a tender conversational quality, as if both sides of the split are finally speaking their truth over driving rhythms that refuse to let the song wallow. It's chill enough to drift into, happy enough to sing along to, and sad enough to linger long after the final chord rings out—a perfectly balanced indie rock gem that turns letting go into something almost celebratory.
