Kitschen Boy and Boredslide "Nathan"
Sounds from Australia
31/07/2026 | Kitschen Boy and Boredslide’s “Nathan” is a delightfully intimate and playful 2’05” slice of Australian bedroom pop and lo-fi surf rock that turns everyday hardship into a breezy, sun-drenched anthem. Born from a completely DIY ethos—spanning writing, recording, mastering, and the accompanying music video—the track playfully chronicles songwriter Dylan Baddeley’s real-life misadventure of a botched motorbike sale that left him severely behind on rent. Despite the financial stress of the narrative, the Melbourne four-piece delivers the story with their signature “Paddle-Pop” jangle, shimmering guitars, and self-deprecating warmth that has already earned them praise from Triple J and favorable comparisons to Gang of Youths and Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever. As a charming collaboration between these sibling bands, “Nathan” perfectly balances energetic, chill vibes with deeply personal storytelling, serving as a delightful and nostalgic teaser for Kitschen Boy’s upcoming debut EP and first national headline tour.
