Jon Often "Pieces"
30/07/2026 | Stepping out from behind the drum kit of Chicago favorites Beach Bunny and Latter, Jon Alvarado’s solo project, Jon Often, delivers a beautifully minimalist and intimate experience with "Pieces." Clocking in at just over two minutes, this smoothly groovy, jazzy slice of indie pop and lo-fi R&B captures a distinctively cozy, bedroom-pop atmosphere. As a standout glimpse into his debut EP Frankie, the track weaves delicate themes of love, addiction, and nostalgia into an understated arrangement that highlights Alvarado’s versatile musicality beyond percussion. By blending his diverse influences into a fresh, laid-back sonic palette, "Pieces" not only showcases a compelling new direction for the artist but also injects a wonderfully unique, soulful vibe into the vibrant Chicago music scene.
