John Frusciante confirmó su alejamiento de RHCP

Ya se había apartado del grupo en 1992 para regresar en 1998

20/12/2009 | El ahora ex-guitarrista de los Red Hot Chili Peppers John Frusciante se ocupó de aclarar su situación frente a la noticia que comenzó a circular hace unos dias que indicaba su alejamiento de la banda.

En un post publicado el pasado 16 de Diciembre en el blog que lleva en su sitio oficial declaró:

"When I quit the band, over a year ago, we were on an indefinite hiatus. There was no drama or anger involved, and the other guys were very understanding. They are supportive of my doing whatever makes me happy and that goes both ways.

("Cuando dejé la banda un año atrás estábamos en un hiato indefinido. No hubo drama ni enojo, y los demás miembros fueron muy comprensivos. Ellos apoyan cualquier cosa haga que me haga feliz y esto es recíproco")

To put it simply, my musical interests have led me in a different direction. Upon rejoining, and throughout my time in the band, I was very excited about exploring the musical possibilities inherent in a rock band, and doing so with those people in particular. A couple of years ago, I began to feel that same excitement again, but this time it was about making a different kind of music, alone, and being my own engineer.

(Para ponerlo simplemente, mis intereses musicales me han llevado en una dirección diferente. Antes de reunirnos y a lo largo de mi estadía en la banda, estuve muy excitado por poder probar las posibilidades inherentes a una banda de rock, y por hacerlo con aquellas personas en particular. Hace un par de años, comencé a sentir ese sentimiento nuevamente pero esta vez tenía que ver con hacer otro tipo de música, en solitario y en comenzar a ser mi propio ingeniero.)

I really love the band and what we did. I understand and value that my work with them means a lot to many people, but I have to follow my interests. For me, art has never been something done out of a sense of duty. It is something I do because it is really fun, exciting, and interesting. Over the last 12 years, I have changed, as a person and artist, to such a degree that to do further work along the lines I did with the band would be to go against my own nature.  There was no choice involved in this decision. I simply have to be what I am, and have to do what I must do.

Realmente amo la banda y lo que hemos hecho. Entiendo el valor que mi trabajo con ellos significa para un montón de gente, pero debo seguir mis intereses. Para mi, el arte nunca ha sido algo para hacer sin un sentido. Es algo que hago porque es realmente divertido, excitante e interesante. A lo largo de los últimos 12 años, he cambiado, como persona y como artista, a un nivel tal que seguir trabajando con la banda en las misma línea en que lo hice significaría estar en contra de mi propia naturaleza. No había opciones en esta decisión. Simplemente tuve que ser lo que soy y hacer lo que tengo que hacer.
