Swedish horror-punk outfit The Dahmers storm back with “Nightmare of ’78,” a 3’17” adrenaline shot of punk, pop-punk, and garage rock that roars out of the gate like a runaway locomotive before detonating into a hook-laden blast of early-’80s-inspired chaos. Razor-sharp guitars, breakneck rhythms, and an unshakable pop sensibility collide in this electrifying lead single from their forthcoming album Creature Feature, due out January 13—naturally, on Friday the 13th. The track is a loving homage to cult horror and grindhouse aesthetics, wrapping slasher-film menace in melodies so infectious the band jokes, “If the melody doesn’t stick after the first listen, something’s seriously wrong with you.”
